Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Each scholar is excited to see me live everyday for school. They are truly happy to see their peers and engaged in learning activities. Our current Covid 19 situation puts my scholar's classroom as their homes and me their teacher in her home. I keep my class engaged with consistent live sessions and I incorporate as many learning resources possible. For example Flocabulary, an online literacy, math, science, social studies, and social emotional tool, is a favorite with my class.

Some students have no help with homework at home because mom works overnight in order to ensure they have a safe place to live.

Due to the pandemic I am missing those faces each and every day. Many students are without technology in order to connect to class!

My Project

Covid 19 has put a strain on our school year. Our scholars are facing weeks without fundamental learning skills for success. Work packets and books sent home will not be enough. As educators, we have access to incredible online programs and resources, however, many students are unable to access these without a device.

With each scholar having an iPad, we will be able to connect and collaborate to maximize Remote Learning success!

Students will be able to complete assignments on our various online platforms and receive messages from teachers for live feedback as they are working. Live Zoom sessions allow us to give face-to-face instruction in real time and cultivates dialogue amongst the students.

My scholars have shown tremendous growth, both academically and socially this year. An iPad would ensure that each student is set-up for success with access to endless opportunities to keep growing their brain!
