First graders are energetic and eager to learn! They come to school with many challenges but always want to do their best. I am just amazed by them!
As students in the 21st Century, they love to work and learn on technology.
Many of my students are economically needy and do not have access to today's technology at home. I would like to provide as many opportunities as possible to them so they are ready for the world they live in.
I will have the pleasure of teaching 20 wonderfully curious First Graders in southern Florida this year.
My Project
In a technology-driven age, it is vital that my students improve their fluency with devices. These resources are not always readily available for my students outside of school. It is my hope that by providing them with time to use iPads during the school day, I can help build their technological fluency. They all love to engage in hands on learning throughout the day.
Having 2 iPads, 2 protective cases, new headphones, and a new listening center will help to provide equitable access to technology for all students.
Daily, I integrate centers into our reading, writing and math workshops. I am able to create individualized instruction when students are in small groups during this time. There are many different apps and activities that students can use on iPads to enhance their learning. Adding devices to our classroom to be used during our Balanced Literacy and Math block will allow all students the access to technology that is so imperative to their growth.
