This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
All students at my school receive free breakfast and lunch. Our student body consists of students who live in low-income housing and with a single parent. Students are developing awareness for STEM education and coding. To ensure that students have valuable experience with STEM. There is a need for hands on science. Students affected by the integration of this grant will be at the Kindergarten level. Student understanding the scientific process of science at a young age prepares them for use of technology tomorrow.
My Project
Students will use technology to take pictures of insects and flowers and zoom in on these beautiful things and have an up close observation of what parts they entail. Students will also learn how to use science programs on the iPad to evaluate specimens in our environment and see how they grow and change over time. Group work on such investigations teach students how to work together to achieve a common goal. 21st century students with the exposure of science and technology open the door to the curiosity of what if and teaches students how to solve problems in our communities.
