My students are amazing! I look forward to teaching them every day! They are very motivated and push me to be a better teacher. Many in my program plan to keep music in their life beyond middle school and beyond high school. Most of my students are hoping for music scholarships for college and some are even planning to become music majors. By the time the students leave middle school they are already performing high school level music.
Raising money through traditional fundraisers has become increasingly difficult.
We appreciate DonorsChoose and all we've received through our various projects. DonorsChoose has made it possible for us to have necessary supplies we need each year to be successful.
The students in my orchestra also take a music theory class which includes ear training and piano. This class helps prepare them for the high school magnet program and also makes them more successful as they learn their instrument, but is not their favorite class. Music theory can be difficult to make exciting, but luckily Apple products provide many applications that help students work on music theory.

In addition to the iTunes applications, I plan to incorporate the cloud-based tools provided by MusicFirst. These tools are also applications. The students will be able to create a more individualized learning experience through these tools. An additional iPad in the classroom will ensure all students have access to an electronic device.
