The students at our school live in suburb of Oklahoma City, and while many of the parents are very supportive of classroom needs, our school district is the lowest funded school district per pupil in the entire state of Oklahoma. Even though our students have many advantages and opportunities at home, our school cannot always afford basic items for students because of our funding.
Our students are eager learners who love to use technology!
Many are very self-motivated, and using new applications and inventions on iPads drives their desire to learn even more. Their eyes light up when they find out they get to share their learning using some sort of technology.
My Project
Our school has two carts of iPad minis for school wide use. Currently, none of the iPads have cases to protect them from little hands. At least one of the iPads has a shattered screen because it has been dropped, which makes it unusable for students.
Our students love to learn using technology and there are so many uses across the curriculum with the many applications that are available.
Cases will protect the iPads from even the smallest hands so they will be available to use to work on presentations, research, read books, learn basic facts and figures, and so many other opportunities. The iPads need to be protected so all students will have the chance to use them.
