This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

A typical day in my classroom can be rather challenging, yet rewarding at the same time. Currently my students are far below grade level in all subject areas. I 'd love to see each and every student make monumental gains this year!

My students come from low SES households.

They require a lot of love, patience, and persistence. They have not been given the social and academic tools needed to succeed. A lot of the students do not know what success feels like. The school itself has been a failing school in the last two years and I'd love to contribute to turning that trend around.

My Project

My students will use the iPad Pro, Keyboard and iPencil to utilize a number of STEM apps. They will also use the iPad to create blueprints for their STEM designs. They will be asked to modify their designs as they learn more about the project at hand. They have been building balloon powered cars and airplanes. Their next STEM project will be to make a sailboat that will function and hold weight.

This project will make a difference because students will be able to utilize technology when planning their STEM projects, they will work cooperatively with each other to accomplish a common goal.
