My class is a group of amazing children who work hard and are eager to learn every day!
My students need 3 iPad mini tablets and cases to utilize during small group center time.
We currently have 2 tablets in our classroom. My class is a diverse group of kiddos who come from a variety of backgrounds. I truly love seeing their smiling faces every morning coming in the door. They are so excited to be at school and keep me on my toes!
Our school environment is like a family and we all work to make our students feel at home. This is our first year as K-3 building and everyone has come together to make it the best for our kids.
My Project
My students need 3 iPad mini tablets and cases to utilize during small group center time. We currently have 2 tablets in our classroom. Technology isn't everything in a classroom, but it is definitely needed to help prepare our students for the future. The children LOVE when they have the opportunity to use them.
During reading center time, students are in small groups of 3-6 and they have to take turns to use the iPad when it is a center. If we had a total of 5 iPads every student would have the opportunity to use it during that 15 minute center. The iPads also would be used during "Discovery Play" time if they so choose. Our iPads would have apps available that support reading, math, language and computer skills.
By donating to this project my class will have the opportunity to use an iPad more often and practice academic skills.
The iPads are very engaging and students are drawn to them and why not add another modality of learning?
