Imagine a room filled with young eager learners, who are ready to explore and begin their love of being a lifelong learner! This is how I would describe my wonderful classroom of 24 curious 5-6 year olds!
I teach at a rural East Bay Title 1 school where 50-70% of the students receive free lunch.
I have students with special ed services and behavioral support needs. My students LOVE our computer lab time which is only once a week for 30 minutes and we only have 3 computers in our classroom to serve all the students. Many of my students do not have an opportunity to use any technology devices at home to support their learning. If we had our very own iPad in the classroom I could motivate ALL learners to continue to excel in all subject areas.
My Project
I believe that interactively working with an iPad in my classroom for research-based group projects will promote a new aspect of learning and excitement for all students to become successful learners. The students will be so excited to share the new information they learned about a new topic to the class. This excitement for learning will spark many more students to continue their love for learning!! My young students will build their hand-eye coordination through the use of a touch screen device. I will be able to differentiate my lessons so I am able to reach out to all of my students. I will be able to play music to help my students who learn through songs and dance. There are so many ways for me to engage my students with the use of an iPad in my classroom and I hope you can help my achieve this goal!
An iPad will provide a much richer learning environment and help so many of my students on a daily basis.
We really need an iPad mini with a protective case to provide advanced technology and to keep my students engaged. Please support my project and help these young learners and many more to come, benefit from this iPad mini with their basic skills and to increase their love for learning!
