Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Imagine hundreds of students from all over the world. Many are here as immigrants or refugees so they speak many languages and have different cultural experiences.
Our students may be diverse, but they all share a love of project based learning.
Poverty limits many opportunities outside of school, but our school strives to provide quality experiences for our students in our after-school program with quality STEM and STEAM activities.
Our students are the future engineers and problem-solvers. They are willing to take on the future. Right now they are full of dreams and hope. We want to build on their hopes and make their dreams come true.
My Project
We use so many tools that rely on devices that we can always use more iPad Minis. We also want to protect them with durable cases so we know we will have them for a long time.
Having access to iPad Minis increase the rigor of what our students can do during their STEM after-school program.
Presently, we use our iPad minis to code all kinds of robots, code little Bits, and build video games.
We would love to use them for coding Scratch Jr. activities and coding with Osmo.
More devices means that more students get the hands on work they need to be proficient in coding skills.
