My Students

This is my first year to teach first grade! These kids are my world! I go home each day thinking of ways to help each one! They just make such an impression on you, and I hope to do the same. I always encourage learning through different avenues by including music, arts, and lots of laughter.

Oh my students .

. . They are the best! A lot of my students come to school to get away from the life they go home to each day. I have several students from broken homes. I have children who get their only meals at school. I have a couple of students who sleep on the floor with no electricity. I say all of this to let you know that somehow these children come to school, ready to learn with a huge smile on their face. I fully understand the impact that I have on their lives for years to come. I am blessed to be able to provide them with extra snacks, hugs, reading materials, smiles, and clothes/shoes when needed. They are so thankful, and I am truly humbled and amazed at their attitudes.

My Project

My students in my first grade classroom (all 23 of them) use the resources we have to learn in new and creative ways. I purchase math puzzles, play dough, art supplies, and phonics supplies to increase student engagement. Students learn the most when they are fully engaged! I know this iPad would be used in all areas of our curriculum! There are countless books to be read aloud online, spelling apps, fun math games, and science lessons. Science is their favorite! There are just so many enjoyable and creative ways to learn with the use of technology.

This iPad would be such a HUGE asset to our classroom.

It will help to educate a student that possibly needs that visual representation to fully understand a concept. Our classroom would be INCREDIBLY thankful for your donation to the kids who work so hard and come to school looking for direction and a passion for learning I hope to give to them.
