Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

With spring on its way, we are always ready to grow and blossom in our learning. We are busy as bees and shine as bright as the sunshine daily!

Our math classes are filled this spring with a diverse group of students from low socioeconomic backgrounds that are eager to learn and grow!

We work using centers in our rigorous math curriculum. We use our Math Centers daily and dive deep into our mathematical world through rich real-life experiences that are hands-on.

My Project

In this technological world that we live in today, we have to reach our youth where they are presently. Technology is an instant go-to for many of our youth. In math class daily, we visit the technology center. Students thrive on learning through gaming and the usage of technology. We are in need of additional technology to make this a reality.

At the center, we practice current concepts via math gaming apps.

These games require technology. Having two additional iPads would greatly assist in that effort. Students need 1 on 1 technology to work on math games and activities to match our curriculum.

The gaming app that we currently utilize is Dreambox it tracks each student and allows me to assign students differentiated assignments. Having additional technology will allow students to master these standards daily.
