This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

A typical day in my classroom involves lots of learning, movement and hands-on activities. We do center rotations for math and reading. Each rotation is about 20-30 minutes long. We have 3 rotations for each subject. We have lots of file folder games but would LOVE to get some technology!

My students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds in a rural community.

They are sweet students and crave love, attention and stability. I have some with disabilities, behavior problems and others who just struggle from lack of parental support/knowledge.

My Project

I am requesting 1 iPad and 1 protective cover to use for reading, math, phonics, social studies, and science. My students will use the iPad in their center rotations and during their early finisher time. They can practice their phonics skills, read books to build fluency, practice their math skills, and work on constructing sentences. They can research science and social studies topics and further their interest in these areas as well. The possibilities are endless!

The iPad will motivate my students to learn more.

They will not only want to practice the skills learned, they will be begging me to practice them. This product will give them the opportunity to work with technology they would not have at their home.
