Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a speech-language pathologist, I am often working with my students in small groups. These kids are smart, playful, and energetic, so it can be challenging to maintain their attention to activities when I have to stick to worksheets and games that we've played over and over again. Although I can occasionally use my laptop to include online activities in our sessions, my students are often asking "if it's a touch screen" or "if I have an iPad" to make the activity easier to interact with.

Having an iPad to be able to consistently access a variety of educational applications and online activities will assist in keeping my students' education dynamic, interactive, and exciting.

When I can incorporate technology with my laptop into a session, my students are competing to get more turns. More turns to practice their skills results in quicker progress and ultimately instills a greater desire to learn. I know my students will be so happy and greater to receive this wonderful gift!
