My students need an iPad Pro for art club portfolio development.

My students love to come to the art room. They are excited and ready to learn. They come from a tough environment where the arts are not emphasized. For many, the arts is all they have to look forward to and a way of escaping their everyday hardships.
With many of our special area classes being cut from our schools, I want to make sure I expose my students to the joy of fine arts and help nurture a love for the arts for years to come.
Technology is an important part of education in our modern world today. Our students are part of this technological advance and require the use of technology in everyday learning. In my art I present power points on our lessons, visit virtual museums, watch informative videos, look at priceless works of art, listen to music which helps engage the student's creative juices. I would love to add addition technology in the form of tablets in order for students to take greater control of the lessons and their learning.
Every Year I have several middle school students that excel and go beyond what is required of them in the art room. They enjoy the challenge of learning new techniques, working with new materials, and going the extra mile in class. Those students are the first to get admitted into my art club and also usually the ones who would like to pursue a high school education at the creative arts high school.
Having access to an iPad Pro in the art room would allow my art club students to spend that time using the technology to deepen their critical thinking skills.
They would use the technology to dive into creating portfolios that answer deep questions, show true reflection and highlight creativity. Using the multitude of apps available to them, most of which they already know how to use or can learn very easily, they are able to become 21st century learners, staying ahead of the curb and thinking outside the box when it comes to the norms of creating art. With applications which allow you to draw, sketch, paint, and bring pictures and video to life there are an endless amount of opportunities for integrating the technology into their learning, creativity, and portfolios.
