My Students

I have a diverse group of young students. Many come from socially and economically disadvantaged homes and all students at our school receive free lunch. We have faced many set backs, including months of loss of instruction.

I need to find engaging ways to bridge cognitive learning to my special needs students.

I want to give them the tools and resources to learn while having fun. I want to build their self-awareness. I want to build a community of learners that care and support each other.

My Project

My students need more access to tablets that are capable of using new apps. These newer apps are necessary to bridge the large gaps in learning that my students now face due to missing 6 months of school.

We are still using distance learning to meet the needs of my first graders, but it is so difficult for my students to understand verbally.

Many have gaps in vocabulary and receptive language. An iPad would help me explicitly show my students what they need to do and HOW. I need more devices to help my students with individualized learning.
