My kiddos are learners that need a little extra help in what we call the Resource Room in Special Education. These kids are typically two years behind their same aged peers and range from K-5th grade. They are looking for extra time in basic subjects like reading, math, and writing but sometimes also need support in social/ emotional/ behavioral areas as well. There learning is needs based and varies from student to student. My students are hard working and are always proud of their accomplishments and we always tell them as long as they are growing pace isn’t as important!
I will be using this IPad to have students record timed readings over time for data recording. I will also be having my students upload their work and have them choose their best work to share during IEP meetings and report card time. This will make it easier for students and parents to see growth and give students more accountablitly for their growth. The IPad will help me to share digital copies of students work for documentation purposes and I will be able to keep a digital profile for each student in my class and I will be able to reference work to classroom teachers.
