This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have the pleasure of working with students who have all been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, they are who I like to call my super heroes. I have nine students in total, 2 girls and 7 boys, ranging from 1st grade to 4th. Their diagnosis' do not slow them down one bit as they love adding and subtracting, learning new words, and listening to stories read aloud. Each of my students is unique in their own way and they are a blast to work with!
My Project
The iPad that I am requesting for my students is to assist with academics, and more specifically with IEP goals. IEP stands for individualized education plan, this important document is given to all students that receive special education services. It contains annual goals in multiple areas, including academics, that the students work on throughout the school year. This document is created by the student's team and reviewed periodically.
This iPad would contain applications that would be used to support the academic progress of my students.
It has been very difficult for me to obtain an iPad for my students to use within my classroom and it would be a tremendous benefit if I could get one funded. Please help me in providing the best education possible to my students by getting an iPad for my nine super heroes!
