This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

A typical day in my classroom is amazing! My students have hearts of gold and want to do the very best that they can! I have some students who are still learning English, which makes Reading a challenge.

I have a class of 23 incredible 1st graders!

My students amaze me every day with what they can do! Reading is still a struggle for many of my students though! My school is located in a large city in Indiana. Many of my students come from low income families where books are not available to them.

My Project

My students will use this ipad daily in a center to help them learn their letter sounds, counting, addition and subtraction skills and reading! With some students still learning English any technology can really help spark their interest! This Ipad will open a lot of opportunities for my students that they would not other wise have.

A lot of my students come from homes that do not even have books for them to read let alone technology for them to use and learn from.

This ipad will allow them to learn so many new skills in Reading and Math through apps that make learning fun!
