Step inside my classroom, and I can guarantee my students will put a smile on your face. They love to learn and eager to discover about their world around them at only 3 and 4 years old. We have various centers that we "work" in where we learn about the world around us: block area, house area, wood working are, manipulatives, library area, art area and writing center.
Although my students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds, they share a love for learning.
They love learning about the world around them through play. Play is the work of the young child; it is how our youngest learners discover the world around them.
My Project
There is no denying it - we live in a work where there is technology all around us... except in my preschool classroom. I would like to have an iPad in my classroom to use with my students.
The iPad will help engage my students during small group instruction when I work with students on their letters, numbers and shapes.
I would also use it during free choice time - allowing them to choose appropriate apps for their learning. Many of my students who struggle to learn their letters or numbers enjoy playing video games. Hopefully, the use of the iPad in the classroom will help my students master their skills since it can be similar to a video game.
