Help me give my students an iPad to use in our listening center during our differentiated instruction, so we can continue listening to the educational podcasts.
We are a small school located in a rural area outside of Sacramento. We have a large English learner population and many of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. Most of our students don't live in the town where our school is located, but live in West Sacramento and the Rio Vista school district attendance zones.
We have formed partnerships with local farms in the area.
We focus on project-based learning and outdoor education. Our school culture promotes a positive discipline model where students' voices are encouraged and celebrated. Our teachers create authentic, engaging lessons that are focused around 21st century skills! We believe that all children deserve to be excited to come to school because they know that the teachers and staff support and care about them.
My Project
During our differentiated instruction time of the day, our class has been enjoying listening to educational podcasts as part of a center. Listening comprehension is an important skill and one that needs to be practiced no matter the age group. This time of our ELA block helps free up time so I can work with small groups and ensure every student is getting what they need to be successful.
Having an iPad in our classroom with a headphone splitter will guarantee that we have the ability to listen to these educational podcasts.
We currently share the Chromebooks with other classes and don't always have access to them.
