This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have varying exceptionalities, but the potential for greatness is there. This is an important academic year for these students due to new standardized assessments.

Most of my students have attention deficit problems.

This often leads to issues with behavior because of their inability to stay focused and understand their classwork. Most are working below grade level and have been classified as low achieving. Some parents are willing to help and support their children and me on this journey, but several are limited by their inability to speak, read, or write English fluently.

My Project

An iPad in my classroom will be an incentive for positive behavior, as well as a tool for instruction via an exciting medium. We work often in groups and have different rotations at certain stations throughout our lessons. The requested iPad will be used in one such station as an instructional tool. However, it will also be available as a reward for students who are working hard and trying their best.

I am certain that my students will be motivated by the introduction of a device such as an iPad.

I believe that it will not just help them learn, but also see that learning can be enjoyable and that such devices can serve educational purposes. I also feel that it will help them see that I am committed to helping them achieve in any way possible.
