Technology is very limited in our school and I'd like to bring our 3rd grade classroom into the 21st century with an iPad! We would use them on a daily basis for supporting the curriculum with enrichment opportunities and remediation in language arts, math, science, and social studies instruction.
I have 27 students in my classroom this year.
We have a variety of diverse backgrounds represented. We are an elementary school with grades PK-5th and house about 660 students. We are located in New England in a middle class neighborhood. Our school has a computer lab which is shared between all grade levels. We only receive 50 minutes of computer time a week. We'd like an iPad to be able to bring technology into our classroom on a daily basis.
My Project
We'd like to have an iPad in our classroom for a variety of reasons: working with a small group for instruction and re-teaching, independent and partner work, research, challenge opportunities for all students through educational games. I also have a document camera and projector that I can hook up to the iPad and project onto the screen for all students to see clearly (especially when explaining a game or activity). I am sure some of my students will be teaching me how to use the iPad and that is just the way education is headed. Students learn from each other and what a great way to do it, with an iPad!
I/we would love a donation to our project.
We would use the iPad on a daily basis and I feel that this a wonderful piece of technology that will be used by students for years to come! An iPad would benefit students with all learning styles and learning levels. Whether they work individually, or with partner, and iPad is an awesome addition to our classroom pad!
