My students need an iPad to use in occupational therapy sessions to improve their fine motor and visual motor skills, as well as to creatively practice their handwriting skills.

My Students

My students are very eager to learn and are in need of some iPads to practice handwriting and fine motor skills. We have two small elementary schools with about 100 students in grades 3-4 and 125 students in grades K-2. We live in a high poverty area, so it is very difficult to get the necessary technology items we need. I would love to use the handwriting and fine motor apps to promote these skills and overall technology skills that are necessary for kids to have in the world today.

My Project

I would love to have an iPad to use in occupational therapy sessions with my kids in kindergarten to 4th grade. It would significantly and creatively help them improve their visual motor skills, visual perceptual skills, and fine motor skills that we work on in sessions. It is also a fun way to practice handwriting, as there are many amazing handwriting apps. My students need to learn foundational skills of writing—proper formation, placement, and spacing of letters and words. We are at a disadvantage in the area we live in economically and do not always have access to the technology equipment that students need.
