Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Kindergarten classroom serves the needs of children aged five through six years old. Our school is located in a low socio-economic neighborhood, and for this reason I understand not all parents have the means to purchase a technology device for their children.
With our students facing such difficult times due to Covid-19, your consideration for this project will help tremendously.
Our new normal requires that students access instruction by using a technology device. My classroom consists of 18 students, some who come from an impoverished background. I have the privilege of teaching many of these wonderful students in a Dual Language, English and Spanish, setting, which they love.
Partnering with you on this project would mean that my classroom can provide a technology device to several of my students who were not able to obtain one.
My Project
With hard work and dedication to our students, our district was able to provide one iPad for every two students per household. This means that there are students in different grade levels sharing one device per household. This leads to several of my student’s having to wait to access a device, and signing in to Zoom either too late or they cannot sign in at all throughout the day to receive virtual instruction.
This project is for an iPad and protective case.
This will help ensure that all of my students log in daily to Zoom to receive much needed virtual instruction.
My goal is that none of my students stay behind if we can help provide the technology device they need. I know that getting funded for an iPad is a lot of money, that is why I decided to write a project asking for one iPad at a time. Together we can make a difference for these students, and remove a little stress from the parents. My lessons are designed to help students virtually, and help them develop the Math, Reading, Social Studies, and Science skills they need to have a successful school year.
