In a self-contained classroom, our focus is geared towards functional skills. In a face-paced and high tech world, it is essential that we learn how to use technology to access information we are looking for.
My students are in a self-contained setting for most of the day.
My students have multiple disabilities but their abilities are limitless! Although none of my students will leave high school to become surgeons, it is my goal that they leave high school with the knowledge and determination to obtain and maintain a job in today's face-paced world.
My Project
With the use of an iPad in our classroom, we will learn how to access information that we need to find. We will learn to type. We will learn to read. We will learn to listen. We will work on our handwriting. We will watch educational videos of scenarios that we are unable to create in our self-contained classroom (science experiments). We will go on virtual field trips. We will learn to be responsible. We will become educated and we will educate.
Having an iPad in our classroom would open doors that will lead us to places that are unreachable without the use of technology.
Each and every donation will be appreciated more than I can put into words. No donation is too small. No child is too small. It is only fair that the students in my classroom have the same chance of growing up to become successful as does any other child.
