I teach precious children in K-2nd grade who have special needs. As a result, I am always trying to find ways to stimulate learning by making it interesting and fun. Technology is a great way to keep their attention and motivate their desire to learn.
I teach resource/ inclusion support and each of my students have different needs.
At this young age they are still eager to learn but are sometimes easily discouraged because of the challenges they face with learning in a traditional way. I intend for the iPad to help expand their learning experiences and open up new opportunities in order for them to learn new things in language arts and mathematics.
My Project
I have requested an iPad and an otterbox case for our classroom. With this technology, my students will be able to practice their reading, math, spelling, writing and technology skills. There are so many fun and educational applications that can be downloaded for the students to become successful in these areas. These applications will help broaden learning opportunities for my students. An iPad will expose students to technology and resources that many do not have at home.

I believe I can help enhance student learning with the use of an iPad. The use of the ipad will not only allow them to learn how to use technology but it will also help them grow in the areas of math, writing, reading and spelling.
