My students need an iPad to use in small groups throughout the day to practice reading and math skills as well as to listen to stories read aloud to them.
Remember when you were in Kindergarten and there weren't even any computers in the classroom?! Times have certainly changed! Technology is part of our everyday lives and my students can take advantage of this technology to broaden their knowledge of all the great concepts we learn in Kindergarten.
There are 24 students in our class, all with diverse backgrounds, interests, families, and personalities.
They're ALL great kids. Our school has about 600 students and about half qualify for free or reduced meals. My students love using the two computers we have in our classroom, but having an additional iPad would give students even more opportunity to learn through technology throughout the school day.
With an iPad in our classroom students will be able to practice reading and math skills using various engaging and challenging age-appropriate apps. Students will even be able to listen to stories read aloud to them, which many of them unfortunately don't get to do at home.
Please support our project so that students can not only build the foundation skills that are so necessary for learning in later grades, but also so they can learn to use technology, which is so important these days.
