I teach at a Pre-K - fifth-grade Title I funded school located in a rural area. Our school has many programs that meet the needs of students, such as the Backpack Program that provides food for disadvantaged students on the weekends to ensure they are taken care of. The families in our community are hardworking and kind-hearted. My students are energetic, curious, and kind.
My school is a place where students, not only receive an education, but feel safe, encouraged, and loved.
I teach two groups of mixed ability level fourth grade students. My students range from academically gifted to students that struggle academically. My students, no matter their socioeconomic status, are all 21st-century learners that love technology.
My Project
My students are a diverse group of twenty-first-century learners that desire to be immersed in engaging, digital lessons that cater to their individual needs and interests.
My students are more excited than ever to learn in a way that piques their interest.
This IPad and headphones will be used in several ways in my classroom. I will scaffold remediation and extension lessons through apps downloaded onto the IPad, catering to my student's individual learning needs. I will also use these items to be more mobile during instruction by using an app called Splash Top, which will enable me to use the functions of my computer anywhere in the classroom. This IPad will also be used to award positive behavior incentives through our school's PBIS program.
