Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach urban middle school kids from working-class homes with diverse family structures. My students are motivated, talented, hardworking, and full of energy. More than half of my students receive free or reduced-cost lunches. They may not be rich with money but they are rich in empathy and willingness to learn. My students deserve a fair opportunity to grow and succeed. They are diverse in their skills and talents. Some of my students think school is more exciting than summer vacation!
My Project
My students work daily on iPads using various educational apps. These iPad are getting old, and I am one short of a set. A new Apple iPad will help my students make our days much better and more productive! My students will be able to focus on creating their virtual menu to explore restaurant pricing. All menus created will be placed on their bi-weekly sheets where students apply their savings and spending skills learned through our financial literacy lessons.

iPads with WiFi are a plus when it comes to utilizing online learning, but this is not the only thing that makes having iPads a must-have in our classroom.
My students are working on different levels and if they can use a there own iPads, they will be able to focus better on the lessons and be successful in school. This addition to our digital classroom will definitely be a game-changer!
