My Students

My student is very bright and articulate, however; he struggles with dysgraphia. Unlike dyslexia, dysgraphia impacts his ability to express this thoughts in writing, spelling and handwriting. For the last several years he has adapted some skills to help with his disability. One of the most crushing results is the toll it is has taken on his self esteem. Here is a bright kid that is aware of what he should be achieving. Everyone deserves the chance to feel successful!

My Project

An iPad will allow my student to take video recordings for answers to essays and other written responses. It will also allow him to use adaptive technology such as speech to text. He can use it to record notes for class lectures and keep track of required assignments. The iPad has various apps that can be used to strengthen his spelling and writing abilities. It will give him the freedom to achieve his true potential without the use of a pencil. He is talented young boy that deserves the opportunity to see his disability is not his weakness, but rather an undiscovered strength. Help him see the strengths he truly possesses.
