My Students

My school is located in a low-income and high poverty area. After volunteering, substitute teaching, and teaching in multiple schools over the years I have never been a part of such a diverse group of students. All students in our school receive free breakfast and lunch every day based on need. My classroom of 27 students includes multiple students whose first language is not English. Many of my students come from single parent households and have limited educational resources at home. They would truly benefit and appreciate this donation!

My Project

Due to the socioeconomic status of the families in my school, the students have limited exposure to technology. Our classroom does not have student computers, so an iPad would make a HUGE impact.

Kindergarten is a crucial time for reading and math development and the students will utilize various apps/ games to practice sight words, letter and sound recognition, and many more beginning literacy skills during our daily centers and beyond!

Students will also use the iPad to develop early math skills including addition and subtraction.

This iPad will motivate and engage my current and future students and will help to create a solid foundation for future learning.
