My Students
The students can hardly contain themselves when it is time to work with technology. Everyone who uses an iPad sees the magic that starts to happen. The only problem is, they currently have access to one iPad only. They would benefit by having more access to technology with an iPad.
I teach up to 34 students in the 4th grade.
My students are between the ages of 9 to 10, come from diverse backgrounds and socio-economics. They are students that love to learn and put a lot effort into school. Despite the lack of modern resources, I strive to find creative ways to increase engagement and learn concepts to better prepare them for the future.
My Project
Every time the students get to use technology, the students are so excited they practically jump for joy. The interactivity an iPad provides can make for a very engaging experience for the students. There are all sorts of exciting and engaging apps for them out there to work with that help deepen their understanding of a concept and skill. We are in the 21st century, so these students are going to be asked to communicate, collaborate, create and innovate and I want to give them every resource possible to develop their skills.
They can do this by working together or individually and use the different apps to work “above the line.” Whether they are using an app like Educreations to come up with a way to present a math concept in multiple ways, using the imovie to put together information from Science, paper 53 to draw and then they can write about it, or My Popplet to map-out and group curriculum they are learning. The iPad technology in the classroom can be powerful for learning and comprehension.
The students would LOVE to work with iPads. By getting new technology in the classroom, the current program with engagement will continue and the students will thrive. Classroom technology like iPads really does make an incredible learning tool and will further reach the students. Any help is much appreciated by the students and me.
