My Students

Our students are academically, economically, and culturally diverse. They have a variety of different experiences that add to the diversity in our classroom. Over fifty percent of our students receive free lunch, which is greater than the state average. We were awarded STEM certification in November of 2018. This is a great honor since we are the first public, Title I elementary school awarded in Idaho. The ongoing training helps us to design and differentiate rigorous lessons and learning sequences that are intended to meet the needs of all learners.

My Project

This iPad will provide a learning opportunity for my students who are struggling with traditional learning activities. It will be used to differentiate reading learning activities for my struggling readers. I will be able to use it to provide phonemic awareness activities and phonics lessons for those students who need it. It will provide engagement while students are learning. This is important because Covid has increased the deficit in many of my students and they need something that can be directly linked to their individual needs. An iPad will be the perfect learning tool.
