I have 18 diverse students from different backgrounds and family dynamics in my classroom. These students are working very hard to become successful. Two of the second graders in my class have just graduated out of the English Language Learners (ELL) program; however, I still have four others working their way to new languages.
We help students learn English while holding on and becoming literate in their own language as well.
My students have come from all around the world, from many different and often difficult situations. They hold the American Dream, but need the tools to make them successful.
The cultural backgrounds of my students are so varied that we are truly a melting pot; we have Native American, African American, Somali, Korean, Hispanic, Caucasian, and many others. Without including myself there are two more boys than there are girls, which certainly fuels our debates.
Our class has received 7 new iPad Air 2 devices, however they did not come with cases or headphones. We are looking to get cases to protect these new iPads and make sure they outlast us and our first class's use. These new iPads also need headphones to go along with them for listening to reading from Benchmark books or listening to word problems from DreamBox without disrupting the rest of the class.
Adding these new cases and new headphones to our class will allow us to use these new iPads in the best ways possible.
Without them we cannot use the iPads as efficiently.
