Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students love technology but have a hard time maneuvering the mouse. I would love for them to have touchscreen capabilities and apps to download to help them build Reading and Math skills.

My students are fun loving 5 year olds eager to learn!

Some are less fortunate at home and do not have access to technology as we do at school. We do have 2 computers in our room for the students, but they are older and quite slow. The students get very impatient with them but love the computer! The mouse also frustrates the students at times because they are not suitable for their little hands.

My Project

I would love to have a center with the tablets for the students to rotate throughout the week. The lightweight and portability of the iPad would be suitable for my students to work on better than the computers. The students would also access to more free programs through apps on the tablet.

My project would make a huge difference in the classroom for these less fortunate kids.

It will build confidence in knowing that they are able to manipulate the activities on the screen.
