This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are lively, active, and ready to learn! They all come from a low-income urban community and most are from non-English speaking homes. My classroom has students who have significant cognitive delays and other issues impeding their learning.

Regardless of any obstacles, my students all want to learn!

We have a small classroom space, but it is constantly filled with activity. We all work hard throughout the day, and the students all are making wonderful progress at their individual levels.

My school system is large with many needs to fill. My students' needs are special and individualized, so I cannot always be supplied with the materials they need to access their lessons.

My Project

We have 5 iPads to utilize in our classroom for our students to access the curriculum through technology. My students often drop and occasionally throw objects. This does not end well for iPads.

My students deserve to be able to access technology, but they need to do so safely and without accidents to the technology.

Dropping an iPad is often due to low muscle tone, not clumsiness. Often students with severe developmental delays have a low tolerance for frustration. This can lead to a quick toss of nearby materials. None of this is their fault. Please help me to fund sturdy cases for our iPads. This would mean so much to myself and to my students. Thank you very much!
