Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a fun-loving, hardworking group of energetic third graders. They range in achievement levels and bring a diverse set of skills to the table.
As their teacher, I am constantly looking for ways to engage all of my students while meeting their various learning needs.
Student participation is a key element to making sure that students are invested in their learning.
We are a California Distinguished School and our district is Common Core ready. We are in need, however, of updated school supplies to support and educate the 21st-century student.
My Project
Our students need one full size iPad with an interactive pen, and case. This will be used to assist with the creation of digital portfolios, practice of foundational skills, creative techniques to check for understanding, completion of group projects, and for individual exploration related to content areas.
In addition, students will have the opportunity to extend their learning through student-directed projects.
In order to organize their thoughts, collect information, and create visuals to share their findings, my students need an iPad, case, and interactive pen. This motivational tool will also be used to enhance teaching and project various teaching tools.
