Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students attend a Title I school in sunny Arizona. The majority of our students speak English as a second language, and 100% of our students receive free lunch. Many of them have experienced the difficulties and trauma that can come from living in poverty and struggle to focus on school as a result. That said, our students are some of the brightest, most creative kids you can imagine.

They have certainly struggled during the pandemic to keep up with their learning, so access to 1:1 iPads (plus data) has really made a world of difference!

With 1:1 devices, teachers have been able to teach more efficiently--provide more specific and frequent feedback, differentiate to meet learners where they are, and create more interactive and meaningful lessons. Students are able to take these devices home, maximizing their learning time, but unfortunately that means more devices have been damaged in transit than ever before.

With your help, we hope to protect this vital resource for our students and make them last as long as possible! We hope to provide a black padded carrying case for every child's iPad on our campus.
