This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students at our school come from multicultural, multilingual, and multi-socioeconomic backgrounds. Our classrooms range from ones that have advanced students, second language learners, struggling students, students with special needs, and everything in between.
Our diversity is what makes our school as unique as the world language we offer for foreign language credit: American Sign Language (ASL).
Our school is the only one in our district that offers ASL, and the only one within 30 miles of any other district.
My Project
In these uncertain times, moving to online distance education will be a challenge for many. This iPad and webcam will make it easier for both my students and myself to better navigate the online world. Lectures, videos, closed captioning, streaming, and other online learning platforms will be easier to transition to with updated equipment. Google Classrooms and Canvas systems are the future, but are difficult to adapt to with older technology and equipment.
These new devices are the beginning of our journey into distance education.
We hope to build a library of online resources that are made with high quality, new technology.
