Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach at an amazing high school that celebrates diversity - I have 6 classes of 10th-12th graders. I tell my students regularly "I never feel like I'm working" because I enjoy my time with them so much (they really are cooler than me). Year after year I feel so lucky to have such a fun and down to earth group of young people.
I love teaching government and economics - my students already care about and are affected by the issues we address.
They never cease to impress me by their plans for making the future better.
My Project
My students deserve a chance to interact with the modern technology that Breakout EDU has to offer. My students love solving puzzles and working with groups to find out more about the American Revolution or Supply and Demand. Their excitement and their feedback on how much these types of activities helped them learn is why I have been trying to purchase this kit.
To have a system like Breakout EDU in my classroom would be a game-changer.
This is how students learn - by challenges, social interaction, and technology. Every topic I teach could be made into a challenging and fun activity in which they learn while improving their problem-solving skills and social skills.
