My students are bright, engaged, enthusiastic learners who are committed to choosing kindness. Independent reading time is a class favorite (it doesn’t take long before students repeatedly ask for MORE time to silent read!) I love introducing a genre or author to the class and seeing students voraciously pour through every book in a series or by a certain author. I am blessed to be able to share in their intermediate grade adventures. I’m committed to doing all I can to make sure their time with me has a positive impact on their journey toward becoming lifelong learners!
My Project
Comfortable flex-seating options from Lakeshore Learning and softer, calming lighting created by Amazon Business fluorescent light filters will improve the atmosphere and ambiance of the classroom making it feel cozy and more like ‘home’.
This project will improve our classroom by helping to create a comfortable, peaceful, and engaging learning environment for my students to continue to grow their love of reading!
Adding flexible seating options to our classroom library will encourage students to really dive into books. Reducing the harsher glare of the overhead lighting will reduce eye strain and make the space and time more inviting and engaging.
