Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on engaging science. They come to school each day ready to try new things and learn and grow both personally and academically. Each child in my classroom strives to do their personal best each day and loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and hands-on labs. I would like to add a new element to our classroom, the element of size. I would love for the students to be able to view materials as small as a blood cell to seeing the cells in plants as well, To do this I am asking for microscopes, pre-made slides, blank slides, stain, and slide covers. This group of students are truly an incredible, and I am so lucky and thankful to be their teacher. I am looking for the opportunity to open yet another door into science for these amazing students. To give them the chance to learn about analyze and examine evidence they collect.
My Project
These microscopes will continue to enhance the investigative science classroom that I strive to create. My classroom is a place that my students really enjoy- I allow them to become creative investigators into the world of science and the world around them.
The micropes and materials were choosen with all my students in mind.
I have watched them the past few months bring science alive and connect it to the real world around them.
With these new microscopes, my students will be able to choose from a variety of science applications that will allow them to see into the world, a world of different sizes and realms. A world of investigation of evidence, a world of tiny sizes, and a world through which we learn.
The best way to increase interst in science is to provide the necessary tools for science. Help my students grow stronger in science allow them to see the world no matter how small through a new lens. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in science, and this project will only help enrich their experience.
