As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences by having interesting interest areas.
I make sure the classroom is always a positive environment for the students and encourage teaching opportunities throughout the day.
Our goal is to close the achievement gap which will expand the students vocabulary.
All students want to explore with new things. These items will help the students get more involved by things they are interested in.
With the new items they will be able to investigate, explore and discover.
Our science center is not very interesting, therefore, we want to make it more intriguing for the students to go into the science center more.
We found that the students always go to sand and water table but we want them to explore in the other part of the center. We believe using the different sensory items will help the students expand their interest.
