My students are naturally curious and have plenty of chances to be creative through the exploration of hands-on projects in our computers, technology, and engineering classes.
If you give kids a blank canvas and all the time in the world to tell their story, then the only thing stopping them is their imagination.
Our preK-6th-grade school is one of the smallest districts in Massachusetts. We are located in a rural setting and still have many family farms in town. Our school, families, and community members work together to create an environment where children succeed.
My Project
These Littlebits will be used as an expansion to the original Invent for Good Challenge. Littlebits are a perfect tool for this challenge where students can use their creativity to invent and engineer solutions to everyday problems. Littlebits are very unique for elementary students, helping them engage more readily in their learning and these expansion kits will help them further innovate. I've found Littlebits to be very versatile, easy to use, and a great motivator making them a good choice for STEAM activities. Our Invent for Good Challenge is an open-ended project intended to engage kids in the Engineering Design Process. More materials will add to the existing Littlebits we currently own. Having more tools will give students the flexibility to problem solve, work cooperatively, design better solutions, and promote critical thinking.
