Intructional Technology: Listening Center Must-Haves for Team 12
Help me give my students informational text and leveled read-alongs to go with their new mobile listening center! This project is a great example of how technology can assist with learning in the classroom!
I am a third-grade teacher who has the pleasure of learning alongside 25 amazing students! They have such a drive to learn and to thrive. My students come from diverse backgrounds and are enrolled in a Title 1 school. I am excited to help prepare my 3rd graders for the upper grades and help them to begin to become independent learners. Because I am newer to teaching, I lack the resources so many of my experienced peers have--although I will not let this affect my students. I plan to work with my grade level to ensure the best possible atmosphere for my students! My students are eager to learn, excited to create, and very ambitious. They are constantly collaborating with their peers while also finding time to work on their individual goals. We call ourselves "Team 12" for we all work towards the same goal of overall success for the entire class.
My Project
This project will help my students with listeracy while working on fluency and comprehension. We will take good care of our new headphones, books, and other resources with the new mobile listening center. This project also offers great book titles for students to explore together. The leveled readers and informational text will give ample choices for my class to choose from. The listening center will be used mainly during our small group workshop time when students are working with peers close to their reading level. Together, students will be learning and discussing what they have explored, which will only strengthen their skills. We are building a strong community of learners!
