My students are incredibly techie and curious. They love to learn about new technology. They are lucky to have a chance to learn about STEM technology, robotics, and coding. When we got a new 3D printer in the classroom, my students showed great interest in exploring all the different objects they could design and print.
Despite being second language learners and from low socioeconomic households, my students thirst for knowledge and need resources to express themselves creatively.
My students need the tools that will help them learn about coding, animation, design, and other creative endeavors in STE[A]M.
My Project
Thanks to a 3D printer fundraiser, my students have been fortunate enough to have two Ozobot Bit robots to use to learn how robots use sensors to navigate a path that students create with color markers. But two tiny robots is not enough to engage a class of 35+ students. That's why were are asking for your help in getting several more of the latest Ozobot--Evo. Students simply love to learn with Ozobots! In addition to being able to design colorful obstacle courses for their Ozobot with paper and markers, students can use a variety of iPad apps to code and control their Ozobots. So these robots offer a great combination of screen-based and unplugged coding activities for a fun intro to robotics. The Ozobot website also offers a ton of Ozobot lessons that explain technical science and mathematics topics, so students can learn higher level STEAM concepts with exciting and hands-on Ozobot experiments.
