Help me give my students stools, whiteboards and some engaging word games to support small group reading instruction for my 2nd graders learning English as a second language.
The second graders I work with are the sweetest bunch of kids I've ever worked with! They are thirsty to learn and so eager to grow. I pull 11 small groups a day with 4-8 kids in each group. The majority of my students come from Spanish speaking homes and English is a second language. My kiddos are so excited to learn to read and this small group instruction is crucial to meeting that goal. The items I have chosen are very practical items that will help us get started right away and jump straight into learning. Right now we are struggling to find enough chairs to pull from around the room, so getting stools is necessary for getting started quickly in groups. We will utilize the sticky white boards on our table to practice writing sight words and the games to solidify and have some fun learning! My kids will be over the moon to use these materials!
