Interpreting the Language of Color With Colored Pencils

Help me give my students Prismacolor Scholar colored pencils for a really cool project!

My Project

I want to buy colored pencils for my students so they can learn how to interpret grayscale photos into full-color pieces of art!

Students will determine which colors can represent each grayscale value in their final project.

To begin, students will select a black and white photo of a Greek sculpture. Then, they will create a value scale key that interprets each value into a specific color. This tool will help them match colors and values accurately.

Students will develop their colored pencil techniques throughout the unit to help them keep all transitions smooth between colors. To complete their project, students will add additional details and designs in colored pencil.

Prismacolor Scholar is a wonderful brand and is vital to helping students find success with this project. The blending ability and overall quality is far to superior to other brands that fit in our budget.

My students would be over the moon to receive these colored pencils and it would give them an incredible opportunity to express their creativity and develop new skills.
