Insects are very interesting to young minds! I teach 2nd grade at a school in a very high-need community. In my classroom, I want my students to have many experiences that they may not normally have.
My students are very interested in learning about insects. They are very inquisitive and eager to learn more. I do not want a banking style of education where the teacher does all the talking and the students do all the receiving! I want to make learning meaningful and engage my students in the process. The only obstacle that I have now is finding the resources to do it.
My students need a live butterfly kit to observe what happens during the life cycle of the butterfly. They also need a Real Bugs Discovery Kit, Exploring Bugs Science Center, and Bugs Stamp Set to be fully engaged in their learning. A set of Insect books would help them research and answer the questions that they are having about insects. These materials will help my students begin to take control of their own learning, and gain the skills to become life-long learners.
I want to take this time to thank you in advance for your generosity. I know these items will make an enormous difference in my students' learning. I can already picture the excitement on their faces when they are able to observe the life cycle of a butterfly as well as learn lots of new information about insects. Thank you again.
