Interesting Books for Interested Students
My students need 30+ books that interest them to read during silent reading time in school. This is to help them become life-long readers.
Do you love to read? If so, it is probably because you grew up with a love for books. You know the journey a good novel can take you on. Please donate to a journey of the mind for my students!
My student are from a very rural area where milking cows and making sure the crops are sprayed trump reading and doing homework.
I only have a limited time with them during the school year to light a spark that makes them want to read and learn through books. So I try and have as many new and interesting books as possible. That way, everyone can find something they love.
These books could change my student's lives in so many ways. Many of them aspire to make it to a technical college, but would never dream of a university. However, I notice the more they read the more confident they get about their academic abilities; thus allowing them to dream bigger. Please help my students learn that they can do anything!
Books are a universal past time.
Those of us that love to read cherish a good book. I want to show my students how that feels.
I want them to get excited about the plot. I want them to not be able to put a book down on the bus. I want to hear them discussing what they have read with their friends in the hallways because what they are reading is "so good." I want them passing the book to someone else in class when they are done and saying, "You gotta read this!"
